Mariscat Design x Clean Plate Jewellery

Early in my jewellery-making journey, I explored the art of wax-carved silver rings, creating sculptural designs that celebrate bold, architectural forms. While my practice has since evolved to focus on casting innovative materials such as jesmonite and resin, I recently rediscovered a small batch of unfinished silver ring casts in my Glasgow studio.

Rather than letting them sit untouched, I saw the perfect opportunity to collaborate with my friend and fellow architect-turned-silversmith, Anna Webster of Clean Plate Jewellery. With her expertise, Anna has transformed these rings into luxury handmade silver jewellery, applying specialist techniques to highlight their tectonic textures and sculptural qualities.

Some of the rings feature the addition of resin, echoing my original design experiments, while others have their indents oxidised to create striking depth and contrast. The collection includes two distinctive designs, each finished with a unique surface treatment, a perfect gift for anyone seeking exclusive, design-led jewellery that balances artistry with wearability.

You’ll be able to shop this limited collection at our upcoming Studio Mariscat pop-ups and markets, I’m hoping to make some available to buy online before Christmas, but, as always, if you have your eye on any of these please do get in touch via instagram. This collaboration brings together two makers with a shared passion for contemporary, sustainable jewellery design.
